Xanga is obviously not the place to be. You can catch me at my business blog here: http://theangryotaku.blogspot.com/
Jesus Christ... if he could handle modern concepts like cell phones, internets, and tomatoes (they didnt have tomatoes in Europe/Africa/Asia until after 1510) he'd be pissed off at shit like this.

So it's apparent I got used to not using Xanga. With the terrible new interface and ads everywhere I don't think I am going to miss it much. If there's anything here you want, save it now, because it's going away soon.

After spending MONTHS trying to log back into Xanga after my new security settings seemed to make it a permenant impossibility, I have FINALLY found a way to get back in here.
My Photobucket remains inaccessable.
Yes it feels good to be back.
That being said, I had been away for so long I kind of got used to it.
We shall see what the future holds! |

STATE OF ILLINOIS NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY May 30, 2007
SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 228
WHEREAS, The use of "retard" (as a noun) or "retarded" as slang to label a person or situation that the speaker considers stupid, unreasonable, foolish, or absurd has become common in our society; and
WHEREAS, The use of "retard" or "retarded" in such a casual or colloquial way reflects an insensitivity to persons with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, Such use of "retard" or "retarded", even when done with a laugh or as a joke, can be hurtful, both to persons with disabilities and to their families and friends; and
WHEREAS, All persons in this State enjoy freedom of speech, but, at the same time, they should consider the effect of the words they use; and
WHEREAS, Soeren Palumbo, a student at Fremd High School in Palatine, briefly addressed the Illinois Senate on the subject of the casual use of the words "retard" and "retarded"; the address was an abridged version of a longer speech given to his classmates that was a wake-up call for those who all-too-casually use those words in an insensitive way and that also served as a tribute to his younger sister, who is developmentally disabled; and
WHEREAS, Many other persons have also spoken out against this insensitive use of "retard" and "retarded"; therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge Illinoisans not to casually use the words "retard" or "retarded" in an insensitive way that may be hurtful to others.
The previous text has been some of the most retarded retardedness I have ever come across on the internet. For someone to be so self centered that they think a modern slang term somehow refers to them and get so bent out of shape by it they run crying to senatards to act as thought police, is just inexplicable. Sometimes it can be used as hate speech, this is true. But more often this is simply becoming a slang term to describe certain situations or activities and carries no hurtful intent, and for someone to superimpose a perceived hurtful intent because of their situation, is an exercise in the purest form of self centered behavior. People are going to use the word, if you are going to insert your own negative connotation and get rilled up, then maybe you should stay the hell out of other people's conversations.
